Prospective authors are invited to submit papers that address novel, challenging and innovative new/original research results as well as application papers. Submitted papers must not have been previously published, or are not currently being published or reviewed by another journal or conference. The focus of this special issue is on the effective use of parallel and distributed computing for computationally intensive problems. All submitted papers will be refereed in accordance with the usual criteria of the journal (see the journal homepage at http://aom-iaom.com/j-four-csim.html). Five copies of the complete manuscripts should be submitted before July 1, 1999 by surface mail, to one of the Guest Editors:

MANUSCRIPT REQUIREMENTS:

• Manuscripts (must be in English) should not exceed 25 pages (8 1/2 x 11 inch paper; double-spaced; 12-point font; one-inch margins on all sides; and there are page charges).

• Page 1 of the manuscript should include article title, and authors' names, postal and e-mail addresses.

• Page 2 of the manuscript should include the article title, a brief abstract, and a set of key words. Page 3 and on should have the textual contents of the paper. Please submit hard copies.

• Your paper should conform to the style of the IEEE Transactions.
